That's cheap lol if you think about the price of an iPod touch, this is a bigger device, up to 10 hours battery and a better OS version. An espically when you compare it to other, particulary shitter tablets, which all exceed $1000. Then this aint so bad. Aslong as the exchange holds up and it's not like £500 here

It really really isn't though, apart from appearance. And besides, is that really a bad thing?

I know this will sound stupid, but you really have to use it to see the difference (or in my case watch and read just about every piece of media you can on it) aswell as really see the future potential of the device. It's all down to the little touches that Apple made, and the brute processing power that comes with it, and a solid 11 hour (useage) battery never hurt either. And the annoucement of multitasking and Game Centre with iPhone OS 4 only makes this device even more of a gaurnteed succesful platform. Wether you think it's just a big iPod touch or not, this device is going to change how we consume media as a whole.
The Game Centre btw is quite an interesting annoucement, it's basically Apple's answer to PSN/XBL on a mobile platform, you'll have a unified log-in with your iTunes account, one big friends lists, leaderboards, matchmaking, achievements etc

And all the power of the Mac OS I assume?
Sounds impressive. It'll be interesting to see what Microshit come up with in response.

Well not all the power, running Mac OSX (or Windows for that matter) on a device like this that uses a touch screen is just plain dumb, the user experience would be so horrible and everyone would just hate it. The iPhoneOS is easily the most intuitive touch screen interface about, if you give it to any n00b, they can figure out how to navigate around it within ten minutes.
http://www.youtube.com/v/UmIgNfp-MdI&rel=1That is MS's supposed answer, the Courier. It's a concept and Steve Balmer of MS has said he hasn't even seen the video, so there's certainly alot of mystery surrounding it. It does look uber cool but I'm not digging the book style, nor the use of a stylus. Stylus' suck.
